May 7th is Big Day of Giving, Sacramento’s 24-hour giving challenge. This Big Day of Giving, give to My Sister’s House at https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/mysistershouse

My Sister’s House is seeking $20,000 to support one of its transitional houses. Funding for this house will be ending in 2020 from the special grant My Sister’s House received from the US. Dept. of Justice. This house is critical for giving 6 women and children a chance to have time to rebuild their lives and to be safe from violence and abuse.

Nationally and in our own backyard, COVID-19 has brought more stress on women and children from homes that were already stressful. This coming year, it will be especially important to provide services and programs to domestic violence survivors so they can get back on their feet, become financially independent, and create new beginnings.
